Signal over Noise

Linkedin Post

Most market information isn't false.

It's just noise. And noise rarely feels like noise. It feels like urgency.

Every layer of an investing decision carries both: the signal that deserves weight, and the exinformation, the extraneous material that has to be removed before a decision can be made honestly.

The cost of actionable knowledge isn't only acquiring it. It's subtracting everything that isn't it.

So we run three layers, and each one starts by asking what actually matters:

- Foundation: management quality, business model, competitive advantage, valuation. What should we invest in?

- Event: news and developments not yet accurately reflected in price. How should we act on market opportunities?

- Trading: timing, sentiment, the parts of price that are human emotion. How do we navigate volatility?

Specific. Simple. Focused.

Noise moves markets. Filtering it isn't a matter of taste. It's the job.
